hey ive just bought a laptop from PC world and comes installed with a OEM version of home premium, buts its all pre loaded with all there bulls**t apps, so i wanna do i fresh install only to find they only give me recovery discs which has all the bulls**t preloaded into it. Ive got a vista disc from my PC when i bought that, can i use that disc and install using the serial on the bottom of my laptop? if so what about activation, will it be fine to do it normally over the net, as there is no pirate stuff on the laptop and it is still using the laptops vista home premium OEM serial number?? just wanna make sure before i install vista again
so i cant use the serial number that is on the windows vista serial sticker on the bottom of my laptop and activate over the net? ive gotta get the cert for my laptop make, its and ADVENT and there aint one on there?
We still don't know if this is OEM or retail version of vista as for ABR quote from the website If moley85, has to activate over the internet then it is not OEM Machine with Slic in bios. I don't actually know who make Advent machine's. Edit. From what iv'e read, Advent computers sold by the Dixons Stores Group (Dixons, Currys, and PC World). These machines are DSG's own brand machines and are made by a variety of different manufacturers. also if moley85's PC vista dvd is oem it will probably have PID.txt file on it and an $OEM$ folder there would need to be removed before he could use that dvd.
