Hi, I had to replace the motherboard in my gateway desktop.
now my restore disk will not work
is it possible to program the bios with the necessary information to make my retore DVD work with the new motherboard?
if yes, how would I go about it?

    thanks

ok, so I looked around a little more and found the DMI236 and the codes to put into the BIOS but I can't get gateway disk to work
I found a post about HP and entered that with DMI236 and got XP to install from my HP DVD, it autoactivated and everything
but I want to use the windows 7 that came with the computer, I just can't seem to get the BIOS right for gateway though.
can somebody help me out with the command line for DMI236 and gateway?

    thanks

Editing the DMI area probably won't work for windows 7 if it was SLP installation you would need SLIC 2.1 in bios (or what slic was originally in bios) the other problem is there are no Gateway SLIC.bin i think they use ACER.
