There is also a new problem caused by firefox. I am on ESR 52.3 For speed reasons, I only use a VPN when I need it. I used to be able to simply change between normal and VPN connection by activating the VPN. For about two weeks now, I find that unless I close Ff, clean it with ccleaner and then restart it, Ff will not open the previously stored tabs, instead it either blocks them completely, or at least uses that nuisance capture procedure for each tab. This means it reads the IP numbers and compares them and supplies me with "Extra" security, as always unasked and without notification. Does anone know more about this and how I can get of this "inprovement"? And I noticed another chnage. Is the possibilities to change the settings for cookies really gone? Thank you
Try installing Waterfox, this is an off shoot project to Ff. Once installed all your settings, addons and Bookmarks are present, your problems may just go away with this alternative.
yep is good alternative, but myself stay tired because this changes then after install FF 52.3.0 ESR I changed again in this time installed Slimjet and for a while works fine and still not my default browser
Slimjet looks good but I have been with Ff for so long I really don't want to switch until I have no option, it will probably be when I don't recognise it any more.

I have been using Mozilla since before it was called Firefox, and I still use it today. The settings for cookies are where they were and still are with version 55.0.2. If your using ESR and having issues, then go back to the most currently stable version
You must be joking... Tis is exactly the reason why I try to find ANY way to get rid of Ff. They keep changing things, make "improvments" that no one asked for, and sacricing stuff that people are actually using! Explain to me the advantage I have, to no longer being able to choose which cookies I want to keep and which not, and if I just love third party cookies!
