New windows 7 Updates - Help

    Im trying to install the new available updates that where released.

    Im able to install all of them but, Windows6.1-KB123456-x64.msu gives me "Update Failed" always...

    can someone explain me why?

    can i use this update in safe mode?

    edit: no, i cant...

    is there any way to install it manually?

    It's a x64 update, are you sure you are running Win 7 x64?

    Okay, strange... I encountered no problems at al (on an x86). Just manually installed the updates, from top to bottom. Only restarted after installing all the updates. You could try system restore and have another go on them.

    These updates have not been officially released through automatic updates yet, so why would you want to install them?

    going to try system restore and start with update kb123456.

    yeah, and windows 7 isn't yet available for the general public, but i bet your running it ;)

    MS has a bad habit started way back in Win95 pre. they offer updates that are already installed. FIX locate the new offer, click HIDE. and you will not be offered the same thing again. MS has know about this problem since pre-Win95 days an has never fixed.

    If an update is not installing check the windowsupdate.log file it should tell you why.
