If you know what is Windows Update, you can know it needs some updates. This is update for Windows Update Engine. In Windows 7 is older version (7.3.7600.16385) than this 7.4.7600.226
I also haven´t updated version via Windows Update. But amires send me PM with new version number... Don´t know why microsoft have old links on his page, and i don´t know why they not add into Windows Update aka hoftix for download...
Why you say s**t? You mustn´t install it... It´s only your choose for install new Windows Update Agent...
Some days ago, MS has released a similar update for older systems like Vista and XP. Could this one belongs to similar aproach? If it will be an automatic update, when you initiate WU it will ask you to update the agent.
It is for Vista and XP George, Kb949104 clearly states that this update is for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 and not for Windows 7, it is exactly what I said in my last post. I have Windows Vista still installed at one of my machines and automatically received that update at the beggining of this week. Please check the KB carefuly. This update brings to XP some WU performance improvements and for Vista a Windows Uptade GUI similar to Windows 7. I think is a risk to install it on seven...
I don't know if it will be harmful to your System, since we will do not receive any automatic update from MS until Oct/22. I advice you guys to read the KB and see what I read there. I just trying to avoid any mistake that can screw up our OSs, I never install any update that is not official cause this.
