    Hello all,
I have a couple of questions.
I'm about to install Windows 7 Ultimate and after reading the Installation guide I have some questions:

In the guide it says: The next step is to activate your Windows. Grab your key and type it here. Uncheck Automatically Activate Windows, especially if you have embedded Windows Loader by Daz into the installation media. If you have installed the loader do not enter a key.
I have downloaded the Loader but it's not embedded on the disk so since I will be doing a fresh install, I won't be able to use the Loader after Windows is installed, right?
So can I just skip entering the key step and just click Next? Or does a key need to be entered to continue?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Here come the problems! :(
After the 1st reboot during installation my computer hangs on a black screen.
I tried the reset button and it does the same thing.
I just upgraded my mobo to a Gigabyte GA-P67X-UD3-B3
    The Bios version is F2.
It has to be a problem with the mobo or the Bios, right?
    Help please!

Yes, this mobo is brand new.
I got Win7 from here and tried to install from DVD.
Besides my videocard and ram I have nothing else installed.
It's weird because I've been able to reinstall XP and sometimes it boots but most of the time it doesn't...

Sorry I don't know what BSOD means.
My CPU is fine @ around a constant 29 C from a corsair H50 liquid cooler.
    I use 2x4GB DDR3.
I've tried using only 1 or the other, still the same.
I see the XP loading screen then it goes black, my monitor says No Signal and it hangs there.

To go back a little, I bought the mobo and CPU a week ago.
I installed everything using my preinstalled XP.
It was working fine once it was on, meaning I had to reset it a few times to be able to load XP.
I did some video encoding, watched movies... All flawless.
Only problems were I couldn't validate my XP copy (I had a blank window popup) and I couldn't install the mobo CD (I had a ActiveX popup over and over)
So there's definitely something going on but what...

    Oh I see.
    No blue screen.
And yes I had used my old HDD with my pre existing XP.
I also did flash the Bios to F3 from the mobo install disk when I was able to re install XP last night.
When it rebooted I was back at square one.
After a while I was able to reinstall XP and flashed F2 back.
And again after a reboot, it hangs and won't boot...

I tried to do a new install on the old HDD.
    Doesn't that wipe everything?

    Well, it's not going :\
    VERY frustrating...
I chose the partition, formatted it, it copies the files and after the 1st reboot, nada.
I'm about to leave till tomorrow.
When I get back home I'll try to install my XP see if this one works after formatting.
Btw, I d/led Win 7 twice so I don't think that's the issue but what do I know...

The version on your link is 21.5 Gig, how can I put that on a reg DVD?
    Mine was 3 Gig.
I got it from here, don't remember where right now, maybe under the install guide.
    And I did burn @ 2x
EDIT: nevermind I just realized it's the total size with all languages :)
Sorry, am using my tiny phone screen
Don't think it was this version
Will try to grab it if I can reinstall XP

Looks like the 21.5 Gig is eight (8) installation of about 2.7 Gig each average. Burn the .iso for the one you want. Or better yet, just download the one you want by deselecting all the ones you don't want.

    I use µTorrent

    Ok some updates...
My PSU is a Corsair 650w
    My CPU is a i7 2600k

I took everything out of the case and put everything back in.
I was able to install Win 7!!
I shut it off, plugged my 2nd HDD, turn it on and of course it's not working anymore !
It hangs on a blue screen with the Windows logo on it.
Turned it off, unplugged the 2nd HDD, turned it back on and still stuck on the Windows screen...
If I choose Safe mode I can be in Win 7, just not in Normal mode.
    I don't get it...

    It's now fixed!
I changed the sata port for this HDD on my mobo
I noticed some are 6Gb/s and some are 3Gb/s
Looks like it needed to be on a 6Gb.
So should I use the 3Gbs one for my DVD and BD drive ?
And keep the 6Gbs for HDDs?

What you should do is entirely up to you. What is your goal? What configuration do you want to end up with? Of course you're free to make changes any time you want, but what is it you are wishing to accomplish? What you want to accomplish will drive what actions you take next.

If you have an open port connection designated with a specific paramater, you'll generally be ahead of the game by attaching items that match that paramater whatever their specific purpose. But again, as long as parts and pieces are compatible with boards and/or ports what you do to your computer is your call.
