ive got a few win7 keys which are valid, but unable to find window disc they are valid with. tried quit a few but keep getting this key not valid for this verison of windows. when i run key through a key checker i get this :

    //--- The Ultimate PID Checker v1.0.4.1 by janek2012 ---
    Product Key:
    Profile: NT 6.1
    Validity: Valid
    Product ID: XXXXX-307-0000016-85385
    AdvID: XXXXX-00170-307-000001-00-2057-7601.0000-2012012
    Activation ID: 520130ee-efd4-4de0-99e0-565a86d7aeff
    Edition Type: Ultimate
    Edition ID: X15-89220
    Key Type: Retail
    EULA: Retail
    Crypto ID: 170
    Benchmark: 73.656 seconds

do i need to find a disc with the same edition ID. is there a program i can run my iso's through to tell me the edition, to match it with the key. or is there anything else anybody else can suggest. i have tried loaders and things but it comes up slic is corrupt or invalid.

    thanks to anyone who helps

What makes you think the "few Win7 keys" you have are valid? Many are available on the web and often they've been blacklisted, are old ones for trial versions of the OS or just plain bogus.

Keys are not hard coded to any disk. If you have a good disk, the problem is with the key.

As you can see the information returned explains the edition what it is for, eg: 'Edition Type: Ultimate'
The key listed is good to install Windows 7 Ultimate (both 32-bit and 64-bit version)
The reason why i wrote install in bold is the fact the key could be the default install key, a used-up key or a blocked key... so activation might be impossible

i have tried the keys with the windows it was meant for like home, professional and Ultimate. some of them came up blocked and some said "not valid for this verison of windows, try installing windows" or something along those lines. when i use the key checkers and it comes back say Ultimate then i use the Ultimate windows disc. if ive got a Ultimate key and it says not valid for this version of windows, how can i find out which it is. i have ran some of my iso's through the iso checker and they have come back as genuine. when i have tried a key and its a default install key it has told me it is.

thanks for the replies and help people.

i have tried the dazloader and it didnt work for me. when rebooted it gave a black screen and a couple of lines of writing, cant remember what they said. tried a different slic installer and that came back failed slic either not present or corrupt or invalid. im new to this and looking at a lot of post on this site. tried for 2 weeks to get win7 to work, so now doing some research to find out where i went wrong or what i can do different. thanks

@dibs1975: what pc/laptop do you have or tried to install Daz loader and it didn't work (excuse me, but I doubt the loader is faulty)? ;)

I'm with them. I believe you that you say Daz's Windows Loader didn't work right away, but then you should just post in the Windows Loader support thread and Daz and others will guide you through making it work. A million happy Windows Loader users can't be wrong.

Im not saying its no good or anything, just that when i tried it it didnt work for me. i will have to run some system info tool to find out motherboard and bios make. as my last pc blow up and ive made a one from bits of other ones. i would prefer to find away to get win7 to work without a loader first. thats why i started this post. if all else fails i will try another loader and if any problems ill ask for help in the right section.

    thanks to all who help

Download a good copy of Windows 7 from here: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/7126-The-Official-Windows-7-Repository

Verify the download is not corrupt, create the installation media of choice and try your keys with it. If your keys don't work with the downloaded program, then your keys are no good. If one does, you're home free.

If your keys don't work try Daz's loader. If that blows up you likely have problems other than a bad key and need to post your problem in the loader assist section.

I know you're frustrated, but wanting to do something doesn't just make it possible to do that something. First get a working system, create a system image and then work on making your keys work.

Before you try a new installation, be certain you wipe your disk first. You need to start with a clean platter to eliminate problems associated with leftovers from previous failed installations.

i read about checking the hash to see if its been messed around with, will the iso checker/verifier do the same as it either comes up genuine or not genuine. or would you suggest doing it myself. ive checked some of my iso's through Windows RTM ISO Verifier 2.0.2 and Windows 7 ISO Verifier tool, some came back genuine and some not. can these 2 programs be trusted. thanks
