Newbie question for the pros :-)

    I have a Dell Dimension E510 setup for the kids. If I try to install Windows 7 and I fail to activate with any of the procedures here, can I just "rollback" to previous OS (Vista)? What are my options?

    if you want vista again you need to format your pc.

    If you will flash property modded slic 2.1 bios or try to use some loader Windows 7 will activate. I can bet ;-)

    I have an E510 and have been able to act**ate W7 Ultimate using Hazars 1.6 loader and Orbit30s release 1.4 loader.

    Can always do a Ghost image for Vista and if all fails put the image back on.

    Yes, or Acronis True Image :)

    Is that a desktop Dimension model (not Inspiron)? Also I have an HP MSS ex470 that does daily backups on that machine, can I do a restore from that? Thanks for any guidance.

    Good news, I used Daz's loader and it worked.
