Help needed for the fix of 'ngen.exe' error in my computer. This occurred today when I started the PC.

Note; previously I was using eset nod 32 smart security 7 but uninstalled and reinstalled the emisoft internet security pack along with malwarebyte pro.

How to fix it? any help regarding this issue will highly be appreciated.
    thanks,
    sid_16.

I tried to install the latest net framework pack but it repaired the existing pack and restarted the system. But after the restart I got this massage.

    This is
    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32>sfc/scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    C:\Windows\system32>
    the S F C \ SCANNOW report.

The net framework file I downloaded from your 1st link has an option to remove the framework pack and repair the existing framework where I choose the later. Again shall I choose the former option (remove) and install it or use your new link to do the necessary job?
Thanks for taking time to reply me.

Did you try the conhost fix?

If you use the remover, please read carefully the user's guide before, it appears all framweroks version will be uninstalled. In post #3, you said the 4.0 and the 4.5 are installed on your system, from my knowledge, when you install 4.5, the 4.0 version is superseded, and when you install 4.5.1, the 4.5 or 4.0 is superseded too.
Did you confirm that you'll have alls version listed in the programs and features (control panel)?

I know the newer version will supersede the older version and as far as I remember my windows update has 'a Net Framework' paragraph which I used to see earlier but can't see it now.

But the Framework package I downloaded and installed 'as repair' can't see it nowhere in windows update or programs and features. Where has it repaired/ installed?

I think you have used something that remove the entry in the MicrosoftUpdate List (registry keys maybe).
Sometimes some temp and registry cleaners softwares are the problem.

The best way is to remove completly all framework you have installed, like this Microsoft Update listed you again all the .Net package available for your OS, but you must uninstall all KB related (hotfixes, language pack, security patch.....). (some applications may stop working).

IMHO, in my case i do a fresh install each year.

What Cleaners have you used since 03 years?

    windsman.

PS : could you please post again a screenshot of the error by using windows system events, go to details (not XML), and expand +System

From Tito's link I could now figure out which version of Net Framework is installed in my system but the problem is I can't see it in windows update page. Anyway thank you all for the help.
