I think you loose card mac address. -Add one address from device manager at locally administred address if find this option for network card. or -Find a method to reprogram mac address in BIOS.
I don't think there is this option for my nic at Device Manager but right click on NIC, properties, advanced tab, property list: network address -> Not Present is checked. you mean, in Setup ? there is only one option about, which is Lan Option Rom Enabled/disabled.
advanced tab, property list: network address -> and enter something like that 000E7B89C4E0 If works after then that's the problem If that works then Maybe when flashed you use some switch to program all and that area is blank now No in setup,in BIOS file or some flasher have option to specify new mac address. like afudos by example c:\>afudos /M "MAC_ADDRESS" where mac_address is something like in previous example. Sometimes you have a sticker on board with original mac address.
I used first "afud4234 NEWBIOS.230 /U" to check rom ID. It ran like it was flashing but i think it's just the way it is. I remember I got a row with the ID 0AAAA0D something like that. OR should be "afud4234 /uFILENAME.ROM ? Anyway, after that I actually flashed "afud4234 NEWBIOS.230 /p /n /c" and reboot. So I typed ipconfig, it doesn't show ethernet adapter local connection. How do I see if this adapter lost its MAC address? What would happen to NIC/MAC address if I flash original .230 bios ? Yeah I boot usb again and afudos has this option to specify new mac address. I should flash anytime or just type afudos /M "mac_address" ?
Already said Put some mac address from device manager,if error code 10 disappear and NIC works then that is the problem. After check that is the problem, and only after that try afudos to rewrite mac address
found two 12 digit number in a barcode sticker each. i tried both in the device manager. after restart neither worked to start nic, error code 10.
I remember something about win7 doesn't accept some mac address if it starting with some caracters. Problem could be something else and not missing mac address Revert to manufacturer BIOS see if problem persist. Try a live linux cd,use dmesg command and look if you find something related to network problem.
hello, sorry for late response, still active thread though. which starting caracters win7 doesn't accept in the mac address ? Does SMAC tool works here for my purpose ? I will try to use linux live cd still before weekend, reply after.
smac don't seem to work without serial key I tried TMAC and MAC makeup, no results = error. dmesg, don't know if it usefull or lacking info, but find these: [ 2.358354] r8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.3LK-NAPI loaded [ 2.358593] r8169 0000:02:00.0: irq 42 for MSI/MSI-X [ 2.358810] r8169 0000:02:00.0 eth0: RTL8168c/8111c at 0xf80f8000, 11:22:33:44:55:66, XID 1c2000c0 IRQ 42 [ 2.358814] r8169 0000:02:00.0 eth0: jumbo features [frames: 6128 bytes, tx checksumming: ko] [ 42.133161] systemd-udevd[952]: renamed network interface eth0 to ens33
