Load the Windows 7 and select Start-up Repair to repair the bootloader.
If it doesn't work, fire up the console from the Win7 boot dvd and use :
    bootrec.exe/fixmbr
    bootrec.exe/fixboot

Very odd. Never heard software taking over a bootloader somehow. Stick in the disc again and click repair. If this is still not fixed, take the data from the HDD directly and reinstall.

On the other hand - check your hardware. It _may_ indicate also a hardware failure (check HDD, cables etc.).

i moved the hdd to another machine and the startup repair told me all it needed was chkdsk for the 100mb partition. i still have no idea what happened but it works now
