    I see the drive in CMOS and also when I BOOT when the system is started but not in Windows.
    There is nothing in the device list either.
    The system has a Asus M2N-MX-PLUS board and an AMD64 X2 6000+
    All works good but no DVD.
    The Harddrive is SATA
    The DVD is IDE.
    Anyone have this problem with Windows 10. The DVD worked in Windows 8.1
    I used this DVD drive to install Windows TP Build 9841, but it does not show up.

    The optical drive should be shown after having inserted any CD/DVD.
    The default "Folder and Search View Option" is "Hide empty drives", but you can change this setting.

    If you've an unknown device in Device Manager, that could be the DVD Drive. As I wrote in my post, change the IDE Cable, if possible to an new one. I'd such problem on one machine I use for HDD workings and most of the time the change of the IDE Cable solved that problem.

    Why did you install Build 9841???

    You certainly know, that there are much newer (and less buggy) Win10 TP versions available (Builds 9860, 9879 and 9888).
    Why did you install now the outdated Build 9841?

    upgrade to 9888 sounds like driver issues.

    Try this.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0]
    "EnumDevice1"=dword:00000001
