Initially I had windows 7 build 7000 installed on my HP laptop 1624tn (Pavilion dv1000 series). At that time, everything used to work perfectly.

But ever since I upgraded to build 7057, there's no sound from my speakers. If I plug in a headphone, I can listen to all the sounds properly, but if I remove it, then there's no sound from speakers.

Windows device manager shows all the drivers as up to date.

Did you upgrade or do a clean install??

I am using sound on build 7057, it works perfectly on my laptop (ideapad s10)

It might be better to do fresh install

7057 has several important bugs, specially in Network Discovery.
    7068 seems to be better.
    Try it if you can.

    Try it:
    Windows Update: AnalogDevice - Audio - SoundMAX. . .
    ;)

no its your speaker config. Right Click on the speaker click playback devices, check to make sure everything that should be enabled and working is. If that doesn't work you may need to right click and choose "Configure Speakers", or it could be something in the SoundMAX drivers control panel.

Everything is enabled. And i don't have soundmax drivers. I have conexant.

I don't have a SoundMAX audio card. Should I still update...?

I upgraded it. I had many programs already installed. Fresh install was a lot of pain.

if everything is enabled and you have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, there is nothing else you can do besides trying to upgrade to 7068 or a clean install. Oh check the quick launch buttons too (on the laptop not OS.. not trying to cause confusion), a lot of times if the QL drivers are not installed certain stuff will not work on a HP.

    Same problem as c2b2

I recently installed Windows 7 RC on my hp dv1000t and experienced exactly the same problem as c2b2. Tried several things and none working.

Any other people have the similar experience? any luck to solve it?

C2b2, if you have solved the problem, please post your solution. Thanks.

Thank you for the recommendation. I have already downloaded all possible drivers from both hp website and Conexant website. None works even though Windows 7 saids the device works properly. I can hear sound from head phone but not the speakers.

One day I hear sound from the speakers suddenly and I can also play movies with sound from the speaker. However, after I took a walk outside and the sound disappeared again.
