No Sound when playing mov file with WMP 12

    hello everybody,

    one of the greatest features in Windows 7 is its ability to play quicktime files without installing quicktime itself, unfortunately my Windows 7 is able to play mov files but with no sound! this only happens with quicktime files :(

    any suggestions ?

    try to install codecs.there is windows 7 codecs pack or Klite codecs pack available.

    Thank you for your response, but if my system can play mov files natively why do I have to use codec ? I just want to FIX my problem.

    I had a similar problem.
    I realized that my configuration was 7.1 and I was using my desktop 2.1 speakers. (I also have my home theater hooked up hence the 7.1 configuration).

    I switched the configuration to desktop speakers and vola, I had sound with .mov and .wmv.

    Working

    Use vlc latest version.
    Its because your sound configuration doesnot match preloaded sound configuration.
    I had same issue while playing gi joe the rise of cobra.
    But it plays it nicely.
    Try it.
