Hello there, I'm running Windows 7 32-bits in a piece of s**t called Netbook Intel Atom N445 @1.6G Hz, this sucks right? Well here it goes. I'm trying to share a folder, it's okay. but Windows must be connected to LAN in order to a SMB/CIFS client to connect/access the share. so i must restart my netbook each time it's not connect to LAN when booting to be able to share that damn folder. Do any of you guyz know a hotfix/solution for me? is that normal to windows boot slowly after stalling ~160 updates from windows update applet? Thank you for your attention!
hello mates orinaly this netbook came with Windows 7 Starter, than i screwed and did a upgrade to Ultimate Edition. guess it's not Netbook's fault. that won't happen with Windows 10 tech preview. the client is a Unix CIFS/SMB client
There is a so called Windows7LiteForNetbook6956.ISO available which is an downgraded Ultimate with an size of 1.5-1.6GB which has full Network Capabilities.
I see, currently the Windows i've installed on my netbook is ultimate and it have all network capabilities, is just this nast bug wich forceme to be connected to ethernet network at Windows startup to be able to share my folders.
The problem is that the CPU is just 1 single core even with 64bit instruction set. It needs to have special drivers installed which are normally not part of Windows 7. That ISO is wrote above, has such drivers installed too and more. Had other things removed which makes problems on Netbooks with Single Core!
Sounds like that old 'link down' problem. Every connection is lost when the NIC is not plugged in/WiFi not logged in, even localhost. To keep the link up when not connected to LAN you can install the MS Loopback adapter.
