BTW If anybody is running the 2015 LTSB or 2016 LTSB and this driver works. Please let me know! Im curious to know. As i currently have it running on 2019 LTSC.
no, it does not. it has been stated many times already that the microsoft store is not needed, as the UWP control panel will get installed automatically in the background after installing the DCH driver, even on LTSC. -andy-
What i mean is it requires access to microsoft app store server one way or another. If microsoft takes down the control panel app from the store server, thats it say good bye to it lol. And given how theyve been pressuring hardware vendors in regards to drivers, driver related apps dissapearing is to be expected. ie in the future: You like 2019 ltsc? to bad, your gpu control panel is no longer available
while that is true, it won't happen. MS is pushing vendors to make DCH drivers, so they will not remove any control panels from their store server or they would make the drivers kind of inoperable. -andy-
So your saying they wont remove the drivers(more specifically the drivers control panel) that work on older windows 10 builds?
Such is life. All newer hardware is going to need newer drivers. All the manufacturers are conforming to Microsoft's requirements. If you find a bug with your legacy driver then your stuck...
Dont get me wrong, i love newer hardware and newer drivers. My concern is that microsoft is going to be using the app store to gain a strangle-hold over drivers. Only allowing on the app store the drivers that only run on the latest windows build, and not allowing drivers for older windows builds that have less adware built in. (By drivers, i mean the driver control panel)
