there is no key at all, none zero :D

we know how it works, you can opt out of insider and roll back to your old version of windows and do that upgrade to Win10 as well. Still no key is needed as long as you upgrade with what they see as a genuine Win7SP1 or Win8.1w/ update install prior to upgrading.

    The new key is HWID.

Reservations are not needed, that is pure marketing. Even those without reservation get to upgrade freely.

So yeah, I would personally roll back or reinstall 8.1 and then do a new upgrade to 10 after opting out of insider. (just because that is me lol). And once activated I would use the "RESET" feature (just type reset this PC in win10 and you will see it) to get a clean install. Just watch if you do use "Reset this PC" as it will ask if you want to wipe ALL drives. So if you have a "data" drive and a C: drive, and you say wipe ALL it will wipe ALL. Just choose the C: system drive when it asks, unless you want it all wipe that is.

    --ed

if you intend to stay with insider. Do nothing. keep getting new builds.

If it doesn't show up in Windows Update this worked for me just fine over 3 times now:
    1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder.
    2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
    3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch

    Hope it helps,

    Greetings

I Upgraded my win7Pro to a Win10pro Via Windows upgrade. So now I want to do a clean installation, to get a proper clean System without Win7 old files. I made a ISO Disk using the Win10Tool, I undestand reading this thread that the only thing I have to do, is Install as usual from DVD and Skip the windows where it Ask for the key.
Once is started the system will be automatically Activated. Isn´t it?
    Thanks a lot.

you can try also this open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade, then create a new value dword 32 and call it AllowOSUpgrade then put the value to 0x00000001 and launch windows update.
