I agree with you, Windows collects information, to find out, how many is those people at all, who are interested in the renewal. NB! They also collects information about your current system.
search "win10fix_full.bat" it will show you a microsoft answers page that someone posted a link to this file in dropbox that for me fixed this icon in Win 8.1 and win 7 x64. I installed both to test and not one popped up that icon. I used this and its there works great..
Is there any way to force the GWX program to refresh its compatibility report? On one PC it failed due to insufficient memory, I added more but it is still showing the old data (and old timestamp). On another PC the results page says "This report isn't available right now".
