Nova launcher question

    Just curious, under default setting of my phone, it normally "dings" when i get an email. When i use Nova, do i have to change a setting there as well to get the "ding" for that as well.

    No, Nova is an Android launcher, not an settings app or an email app.

    As Skavlok mentioned, it's the launcher and it doesn't give any notification sound. Check the sound configuration on your phone to make sure a notification sound is still set.

    Do any other applications have their regular notification sound?

    You should check out the app Zedge. You can download ringtones/notification sounds and set them as whatever contact or notification you want.
