Does anyone with a Technet or MSDN account know how many times you can use a single key to activate multiple installations of Office 2010?

Re: Number of Office Activations Per Key?

I am unsure of Office 2010, but when I bought Office 2007, I did 4 successful activations. I never had the need to do another one, so I'm unsure of what the limit is. But it's definitely not one, at least wasn't the case with my retail key for Office 2007.

Anybody know if this applies to student keys as well. I thnk the license say you can install on one desktop and portable device so it must be two at least.

    Another Question.
How many keys are they currently giving to each Office 2010 editions, bcoz when compared to 7 the leak of office retail key is pretty less.

I can confirm 4 activations - so I think it's 10 like the other licenses. And as pkaji123 says, 20-25 phone activations.

okay everyone each key is good for 10 online activations. after that you can phone it in up to 25 times from what i am told. now after 3-5 phone activations i am told it should reset the online status for another 10.. so pretty much as many as you can need

and yes each technet account got one key to start and now gets an ADDITIONAL 10 keys.... so 11 total

Armada, the first key was "accidently" for a terminal service install. The media is the same but the first key issued may have reduced functionality. Just look at your keys on your account. does your first one say terminal service or is it a regular pro plus key.

BTW, the reduced functionality is not that big of a deal, just read the KB article on the TN site. And thanks for the clarification. One thing about the TN account that bothered my before I paid for it was how closed mouthed the MS people were when asked any details about the account, almost scared me out of getting it, however, after getting it I am very happy that I did because I have learned allot being able to install and use different applications and OS's. Anyone sitting on the fence, wondering about whether they should go for it, do it. Just keep a death grip on all of your keys.

correct on the first key i did not even notice that till today. but it technically still works for most things anyway just minor reduced functionality if you use those features if not then use the key anyway. i use it now on my daughter who i only install word and excel and publisher for anyway works fine

I got 20 licenses, first 1 (22.April), then 9 more 30.April, then 10 more the 4.May. And every key lets me activate Office 2010 Pro Plus.
On my MSDN account, I only got the first license 22.April, then one more 4.May, and both of them stand as "Terminal services". I can not generate any more keys for Pro Plus, but it's says 0/2 for Office 2010 Pro Plus. When I try to generate a new key, I only get a blank line.

can anyone confirm the 10 activation for office msdn key??

i know windows 7 can have 10 unique activation..but for office, i do read it somewhere that msdn key can only have ONE activation..

another question, keys are different for 32bit and 64bits or the key can be use on both version and vice-verse?.. because windows 7 have key for each version (32 and 64 bit) but 64bit key can also use on 32bit version of windows 7..however, once 64bit key is used on 32bit..it can only be use to activate 32bit version..

hope my question is not confusing..thanks

As I told people in this thread (some post over yours) that I have activated 4 times with the same key, so I think it's a 10 act key as Win7 etc.

and yes, you can use the 64bits key on 32bit etc, like Windows 7 keys. And where did you read about Win7 keys that are used on 32bit installation, only can be used on 32bit after? Thats not correct. On MSDN and Technet, you DO NOT GET different keys for 32bit and 64bit, it's the same keys. And you can activate ex. 5 times 64bit and 5 times 32bit without any problems.

In another thread I said that I had spoken to TN support about the amount of activations. It is ten activation per key, for evaluation purposes the key can be activated concurrently. The keys are bit independent. Just read the FAQ on product keys for your TN account. If you use the key to many times you can phone activate. If you use all of your keys and have not abused your account you can ask for additional keys.
