Many thanks for the information in this thread. I have a feeling it will solve my issue on my old Dell HTPC 740 Enhanced box using an Nvidia chipset. I didn't have the watchdog reboots till recent IP builds of Win10. The anniversary update did the same thing. I'll try Fernando's modded drivers this weekend and see what happens.
Fernando's drivers fixed another crashing nvidia chipset computer I had years ago on Windows 7. I am indebted to Fernando. I don't know how he knows what he knows, but he's done what nvidia won't, which is to package working nvidia drivers for windows 7 through 10. I didn't have a reason to suspect the generic MS drivers since they worked fine before the anniversary update. I learned something here: use Fernando's nvidia chipset drivers instead of MS's.
@pf100 It appears you are using his 6.99 Legacy driver. Are you running an SSD? I really hate to lose the TRIM option....
The MCP61 chipset I'm using doesn't even have AHCI so it's as legacy as it gets. I wouldn't waste an SSD on this motherboard.
