I was surprised this was not in the hardware forum. Read about this on another site and you'd be surprised at how many folks are freaking out. Personally, I see the reason. Most of the mainstream games released in recent years require more ram than a 32-bit OS. Even a game which tells you it needs only 3Gb of ram is not accounting for the OS or other apps or services already running. Furthermore, the earliest 64-bit system was originally released back in late 2000 (early 2001 for brand name PC's), which means you've got 17 - 18 years since 64-bit first hit the stage. The only folks who I see really being upset by this are anyone who has refused to upgrade their hardware or buy a new computer in nearly 20 years or those few who think an underpowered netbook (which is less both in value and hardware than even a laptop), should do everything under the sun.
