O2016 msi installation no longer exists but updates offered (and failing)

    Had Office 2016 VL msi based installation, which got fully removed & cleaned and replaced with Office 365 C2R monthly
    C2R updates OK (as expected), but WU still offers updates to (no longer existing) Office 2016
    Ofcourse each of these updates fails

    Any idea where WU checks & insists on presenting updates for product no longer installed?

    That is, obviously MS own cleanup tool did not work fully

    You cannot scrub Office 2016 MSI without affecting Office 2019
    either do the manual registry way, or do full scrub

    I ended up doing this.

    a little confusing because your initial post said to do: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1411837/

    and if that didn’t work then do https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1466365/.

    when I did the first, there was a link to github but it was just code and no way to execute it.

    thanks tho
