Downloaded all latest notebook bioses from ASUS FTP (verified ALL of them from 1.06-02.07)- without luck with searching for SLIC 2.1.
    Damn...

:( for me it looks like asus is intentionaly delaying 2.1 slic, since most of people where using their slic for vista and now they are hopeing people will jump to some other company! ofc it np to use some other slic, but since i have asus mobo i would also want asus slic... just for a princip :)

    Same as me mate :)
Have an ASUS mobo and have the ASUS Slic 2.0.
    Now waiting for the 2.1.
    Well - RTM isn't out.
Till there will be no certs+keys I will be sticking to RC build anyway :)

Thanks frwil - that clears my head and the confusion.
Now THAT'S WHY Asus didn't include the SLIC 2.1 in their bioses... darn...
I think we would need to grab some fresh notebooks of the shelves and rip the SLIC 2.1 from them :(

Whats the deal with some of the vendors having multiple SLIC 2.1s? I see what looks like abbreviations on them. Is this just a method of matching which SLIC goes with which motherboard manufacturer instead of different manufacturers all using the same one? When we had the 2.0 SLICs I do not recall seeing multiple ones, with the exception of Toshiba that had a few, but none of the others if I recall correctly.

I wonder if they are having specials per board type so if you do not hace exactly that...........won't be as easy as before ?

I already checked the bioses of these notebooks.
    None contains SLIC 2.1

    Hi guys

Updated a Dell Poweredge 2950 with latest bios today.
Afterwards found below with RW everything.

Seems to me and my rather limited knowledge like a SLIC 2.1.

What do i need to do to extract this one for addition to this collection?

    Hi,

The part that needs to be extracted / saved in BIN romat is (in hex) :
    Starting from
    53 4C 49 43 76 (in ASCII text it's SLICv)
    and ending after 9C bytes (Dec - 156) counting from 57 49 4E 44 4F 57 53 (ASCII WINDOWS)
totaling in 374 bytes (dec) or 176 (hex).

Just extract your bios edit it with hex editor and copy the needed part to a new file.
Please correct me if I'm wrong mates (that are more familiar with the extraction process) :)
