    yes i know, but every one in a while someone is asking about asus desktop slic, thats why i posted this... hopefuly people will use search before asking next time (wishful thinking :D).

    not that interesting, this is already discussed here quite some times,

    activation_backup_restore proggie for win7

    freestyler, do you remember the vista activation backup and restor proggie, for inserting new slics and oem info into your bios. Is there anything like it for win7 ?

    It was so easy to use on oem versions....:p:p:p

    there is none... i mean even on offical dell oem win7 dvds you get old certificate, why would you think noone even exist?

    hp slice upgrade

    Hi i have the hp pavilion dv6 do i need slice 2.1 and if i need one how do i update my computer with slice 2.1:)

    Check if you have SLIC 2.1 in your bios with slic dump toolkit :cool:

    Gateway SLIC 2.1 Bin

    I have been spending the last week trying to download some of the newer bios files from gateway, and when taking them apart with PBE, I open the ACPI#.ROM files and they look nothing like SLIC tables like in my current bios. I currently have an M-6827 notebook and am looking to upgrade to SLIC 2.1 while retaining the gateway branding to allow for an easier upgrade from my current install, plus the fact that I just like the complete "factory" feel of retaining gateway in my bios :)

    Does anyone have a gateway that came preinstalled with windows 7 that they can dump the SLIC table and certificate from? I also read something about gateway matching acer and emachines, so I'm not sure how gateway works with the new SLIC 2.1 tables.
