Hi Friends: How many updates did you receive today (10/8/13) for Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit with Media Center? I didn't receive any update for Windows 8.1 today...just 24 updates for Office 2013, 1 update for SkyDrive Pro, 3 updates for Silverlight and 2 updates for IE11...30 updates total What's your take? Thanks TecMan
If I am not wrong, How come you can expect an update for 8.1 which is not even released officially? You should wait till October 18 to get the update / patch.
I was surprised we got so little, since this is the last PT before GA. Maybe they'll drop something next Thursday? As a point of reference, 8 received a LOT more updates between RTM and GA than 8.1.
I totally update office, that is one program I prefer to keep up to date. lol I am learning however, never..use..windows..update...offered...drivers.............. but I try anyway, I must like trouble *sigh*
Yesterday's update for Office 2013 was more like a SP. Huge list and size of updates. MS's updates are getting cumbersome and painful. Does it say something that updates over the last 1 year per month are much larger in number and in size.
Windows 8.1 is not yet officially aligned with other OSes... I just got the Flash and IE11 update. I've read the next week we will get many updates, right before the official release; and I guess there will be many more than 40.
I got a Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (kb/2884101) also the flash update said it was for windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (kb2886439)
44 updates with office, one office update like 130mb big . before General Availability just like they said I found couple of internet explorer's 11 flash updates and more than 900MB of office 2013 updates and also silverlight. cheers,
btw these office updates have only minor effect on GA 8.1, to make this clear. After oct 18 there will be a nice package for windoze
MS sometimes holds off on patches just before releasing things. I know this wasn't the case for 8.0. It was the case for Office 2010 sp2 a few months ago. There were no security patches for a month or two and then blam, SP2.
