So I've come across a few odd issues with my Windows 8.1 Pro install (without Media Center), KMS activated. For one, I'm missing the option to get a Windows Experience score. No big deal. I'm also missing the "Add Windows Features" option. But the big problem is I can't seem to get any Streaming video via Windows 8 Apps. Netflix, Vimeo, YouTube, etc. All of them seem to refuse to buffer and play any video. Is this a symptom of not going with the Media Center option?
They removed the option to "add windows features to windows 8.1" if you are kms activated. Windows experience index was dropped on windows 8. You can download fanmade versions though... If you are having problems with any windows apps, I'd suggest the annoying task of uninstalling them, and re-downloading them. This was a problem when the first RTM became available, but I'm not sure if the post-GA install.esd downloads have the same issue. If re-downloading the apps doesn't work, the only thing I could think of is that there's either some sort of hardware problem, or a connection issue like a firewall setting or need to be set to an email address (online mode)
Thanks for the info. I've tried reinstalling with no luck. I read that some AMD users had an issue with a particular video driver where they had to roll back for Apps to stream properly. But I'm using an Nvidia card, and I did try rolling back my drivers as well.
