OEM SLP Activation

    I have SLIC 2.1 on my laptop........

    is SLIC 2.1 backwards compatible with Vista or XP? Can I activate in DOS via teh command prompts? or do I have to downgrade my SLIC table?

    Yes it is, I modified my bios with SLIC2.1 and dual boot XP with W7 ...both activated :p

    slic 2.1 and 2.0 in not for xp
    you need slp1 string in your DMI to activate windows xp
    check your slp1 string with the slic dump tool
    if your see string in the "SLP OEM String Offset Valid Count" you have slp1 for activate xp

    Yes, it ios even better to use oembios tool 1.1 from stickies to know exactly what oembios set you need
