OEM versus RETAIL: what's the difference?

    hello everybody! what's the difference between an OEM and a Retail version? which one is usually installed by factory on laptops? bye, thanx.

    thanx. so, to keep using the serial key behind my laptop (after SLICing) which one should I torrent: retail nor OEM?

    You should try to get OEM also if you are referring to XP it does not use SLIC activation it uses SLP 1.0 you need manufacturer SLP srting in DMI area in bios + oembios files and OEM:SLP key to pre-activate. The serial on your laptop will not be OEM:SLP but OEM:NONE SLP if you use that you need to call M$ to activate.
