hi guys quick question whay would OEMBIOS.exe not work anymore it used to run on my PC now it says i can't acess it or don't have permission to acess that file. do i need any specail updates on my pc to use it .EX. net framework ? weird. any info would be great thanks
No you don't need any updates e.c.t to run it , someone must have changed oembios.exe file properties or you are not logged in as admin.
thanks guys .i'm running 32 bit . maybe something else is wrong ,my machine has seemed a little slow lately .i did try to install something i shouldn't of ,if you no what i mean ,maybe it changed some settings . DOH! ,i have run a full virus scan and ,malware /adaware scan and everythnig has come up .clean . and nothing suspicious in my task manager . now that i know it should work .i'll dig into my machine a little harder. thanks again

Man, just disable the av and firewall and such things which may prohibit a program to enter in the system.... then give a try...
Ooppssss....... thats strange!!!!! Well, download again, try 7zip as the decompresser and run it under safe mode.... post the result.....
still no go this is weird . 7zip opens it extracts it .same thing hapens in safe mode .stil do not have permission. ???????????????????? i am logged on as administrator. weird
i did a check on everything and cleaned it all up PC is running fine now . i know my bios has SLP 1.0 in HP and asus .it just bugs me that this thing doesn't work anymore. slic dump toolkit 3.2 will read the bios showing me my slp1.0 and the slic 2.1 , it just is this oem bios exe is not working . maybe a little off topic but i have been having problems with windows update keep offering me these same 4 updates even tho windows update said they installed successfully. i just told windows update to hide these 4 issues and stop bugging me . i did clean the SoftwareDistribution folder and do the windows update again and same error happened .eventually i just turned automatic updates off and i will do a manual update every week or so the machine is working fine now . the only big change when i noticed machine was sluggish was when i was trying to install Nero burning rom lite .maybe it screwed something or messed with my machine. or had a virus but no virus was to be found . oh well i will try a few more things. thanks for the help
i figured it out . i also did run combofix it deleted or fixed this stuff c:\windows\system32\drivers\wdreg.exe Infected copy of c:\windows\system32\ctfmon.exe was found and disinfected Restored copy from - c:\windows\system32\ctfmon.exe.backup and in the end i remembered i had messed around with XP-antispy. one of the settings was to deny access to 16 bit applications this was the problem unticked the box and all is good. problem resolved cheers everyone.
