I am not sure, my hashes are from the raw ISO image created by ImgBurn, not from a DMG created by the Disk Utility of OS X.
Ok. Check with this... -------------------------------------------- OS X 10.5.6 (9G66) Retail.dmg CRC32 $0F91EA17 (from Diskutility) Checksum output in Windows: OS X 10.5.6 (9G66) Retail.dmg CRC32: 5b9091f9 SHA-1: 2F6778E87CE4BA0307662DCCD46D56AD85AB9927 Size: 7 200 571 772 Above Image is also available from Looking for OSX 10.5 for PowerPC or any old OSX Magnet still good --------------------------------------------- OS X 10.6.3 (10D575) Retail.dmg CRC32 $A4703EB0 (from Diskutility) Checksum output in Windows: OS X 10.6.3 (10D575) Retail.dmg CRC-32: E72BC845 SHA-1: 314566D76EC72CE3F73FD4B09257C26CB3E27C8F Size: 6 832 375 180
Ok, I have used dmg2img.exe to unpack that DMG of Leopard I offered, which supposedly matches the official download from Apple (I cannot verify it personally because I happen to lack a proper paid account). I have got this, it seems they are known hashes: Code: Size: 8 056 201 216 bytes CRC-32: ab4a361a MD5: f352eb405deb772609c14747b169109b SHA-1: 1938f3ac2a1f984a76da558a392d5d2b2941246d As for Snow Leopard, well, I will get that DMG and unpack it, just to check if its unpacked form does match the mine from my real DVD.
SHA-1: 1938f3ac2a1f984a76da558a392d5d2b2941246d Found some references to this indicating os x 10.5 of some kind ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you open image file with e.g. 7zip - go to: Partition 5.hfs -> Mac OS X Install DVD -> /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist Open SystemVersion.plist and you will see something like: 10.5.6 <key>ProductBuildVersion</key> <string>9G66</string> <key>ProductCopyright</key> <string>1983-2008 Apple Inc.</string> <key>ProductName</key> <string>Mac OS X</string> <key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key> <string>10.5.6</string> <key>ProductVersion</key> <string>10.5.6</string> 10.6.3 <key>ProductBuildVersion</key> <string>10D575</string> <key>ProductCopyright</key> <string>1983-2010 Apple Inc.</string> <key>ProductName</key> <string>Mac OS X</string> <key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key> <string>10.6.3</string> <key>ProductVersion</key> <string>10.6.3</string>
Ok, that DMG (SHA-1: 314566d76ec72ce3f73fd4b09257c26cb3e27c8f) you are speaking about does match the raw dump of my DVD. Its unpacked form, better said. They are identical byte to byte. As for the image format, my Mac won’t boot from some reason.
Sorry about your mac - reinstall? About the checksums: goodie If you make that one available we should have latest official 10.5 and 10.6 online with checksums available.
I'm mixed up. I'm DLing 10.6.3 via torrent now. I don't know if it's from a post from LatinMcG, Sajjo or Doomero. I'll sort through all your posts to find and SHA to check it. I'm working in Win for now. Will a Win checksum program work accurately on these Apple DMG files? DO I have to use transmac to burn a disc or can I use IMGBurn? Did anyone create the repository that was mentioned? Does anyone have a link or torrent for the latest Mac OS that you can vouch for? Sajjo, you mentioned in a post that some OS version had someone else's plane vanilla installer on/in it. I don't know what that means. If it's an official retail dmg or a dmg made from the full DL, why would it need a home made installer. Thanks all!
