    Replacing the infected external HDD's EXE according to VirusTotal, formatting the PC's HDD and reinstalling Windows 11 was enough.

    Well, I installed a fresh copy of Windows on a spare SSD, got everything updated and made a CloneZilla image. Then I installed Office 365 Professional from the Beta stream. Everything works as expected. I have SORT(), FILTER() as well as the new textual functions all available.

    I'd rather use my main installation of Windows because building everything up the way I like it will take days so I'm going to pop my old SSD back in and see about that folder that Dark Dinosaur suggested I delete.

    OfficeRTool.exe … never exist … nor will ???!!??
    just did a bit more clean up
    fupx its a miracle can made 7mb into 2mb file
    wget.exe become 1.24MB instead 4MB
    but some files can't work after upx compression
    did what I can, before it was 54mb with lot of s**t
    now 12mb only ..
    the compressed file size is about 6mb plus instead 11MB,
    half size than before

    Please explain how Office R Tool v 2.62 is launched. Did I have it in my pending tasks, when I just launched it yesterday to see its version number, correctly terminated the application and deleted it along with the folder? It seems to me that this is not a very clean thing, especially if you look at the launch options on the screen, which make the launch hidden. And yes, I downloaded it from this topic, and not from somewhere else. WTF -AutoTask parameter? The task to be executed is in Task Scheduler

    Event log
    Code:
        NewEngineState=Stopped
        PreviousEngineState=Available

        SequenceNumber=16

        HostName=ConsoleHost
        HostVersion=5.1.19041.1682

        EngineVersion=5.1.19041.1682
        RunspaceId=7bc71815-9d9c-44a2-9924-95d5c0304806

        CommandType=
        ScriptName=
        CommandPath=
        CommandLine=
    See screen here: imagebam.com/view/MEGTKI0
    (can't add link properly because I haven't written 5 more posts)

    In the Windows event log I counted 8 events, however the last one has:
    SequenceNumber=16

    Once again, I did not install Office, did not try to activate anything. I ran the script just to see its version!

    Didn't look closely at the code. I can understand something, but I'm not strong in it. I'll look later. First of all, the question arose why it was added automatically without my demand, especially since, as I wrote, I did not install or activate anything using the Office (R) Tool, since I already had office installed and activated with a retail key.

    In addition, I would like to note the following. I understand that you repacked setup.exe and now its size is about 2 mb. But at the same time, the size of your OfficeRTool archive is 6 megabytes. I would still suggest that you leave the original install.exe for transparency of trust so that you can be sure of the originality of this file using a known control hash. It would be fair. In addition, even the full version 2.62 OfficeRTool with all files (in which setup.exe is about 7 megabytes) can be packed with the 7zip archiver to a size of 9 megabytes if you use "compression level 9" and the "Memory usage of compression = 16 Gb" option. Yes, it's still a little more than 6 mb, but not 11, as it was originally with the archive from 2.62. I would also like to know what is (and what) the OhOx.bin file? Thank you.

    There are 1605 licenses files in the folder "OfficeFixes\ospp\Licenses16"

    The .7z from 2022 may 13 is only 9.3Mo. Maybe you shouldn't use .rar

    Where is the option to install single Office apps? Can't find it anymore in the recent 2.64 version of Office Tool.

    Well, you still haven't answered a few questions:

    1) Why did OfficeRtool itself get into the Windows Task Scheduler if I just launched it, but did not download or activate anything with it;
    2) You named the setup.exe file you repackaged in OfficeRTool 2.62 signed by Microsoft, although Microsoft did not release a file of this size;
    3) You did not answer what it is and what the OhOx.bin file is for in previous versions of OfficeRTool. mp3

    Maybe you don’t care about it, maybe people who don’t understand and don’t think about anything other than activation, too. But for some, myself included, these questions are interesting because I'm concerned about the cleanliness of your application.

    Since you did not answer, I will consider this an answer, from which I can draw ambiguous conclusions ..

    MAY I ask you,
    Why you care about this activation task
    It's actually a good thing. Weekly activation task.
    It's not eat / drink, you don't pay for it.
    And you can also disable it via setting,
    So why all this non sense??!!

    Hello @Dark Dinosaur

    Is the option to install single Office apps gone in the new version? I can't find it.
