I use this version at home (together with IBM Lotus Symphony 3.0.1 which I prefer anyway) and it is pretty OK, but I do not like the blinking ads. Fortunately, there is a program which gets rid of the and as far as I see which was not mentioned here. I have under 20 posts so I cannot post any links (please, anyone can do it?) so please google for OfficeAdRemover or go to the webpage of the creator of the proggie which is www dot kluug dot at I like Office 2010 Starter without ads even more than before
I'm using Windows Defender ONLY in Windows 8 Consumer Preview, and I don't think I received a Trojan horse message.
I never install any beta or release-to-manufacturers antivirus software in Windows 8 Consumer Preview, it is clearly inrealiable and I refreshed, reseted and reinstalled my OS for at least 5 times thanks to these software.
Never had a problem with HitmanPro, it was recently updated to have better support for W8, in terms of where programs are installed & how they run W8 isn't really that different to Windows 7. Anyway for what this OfficeAdRemover does & since it's pretty unknown in what it fully does to reach it's goal I think I'll leave it as the Starter ads never really bothered me in the first place & I've been using it since it was first released.
