Grandson has a machine with 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB) graphics cards. He is asking me for a EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC Signature2/Dual Fan/2048MB GDDR5 Dual Dual-Link DVI/mHDMI/DP/SLI Graphics Card (02G-P4-2687-KR) for Christmas. I think this is probably not a good idea. How about some opinions from some experts (or at least some who know more than I do!). Thanks

Ooopps! Should read GTX 680, not GTX 860!

I was also wondering how could Nvidia jump from recently launched 6xx series to 8xx series in a space of a few months at most.
Anyway, I thought 670 was somewhat better than 680 but perhaps that was not true. 690 is supposed to be at the top??

The higher number is usually better unless you want to baffle the consumers.
    ATI 9800 vs ATI HD 7900 :D
