    Hello,
I am new to BIOS Modding.
I have dell vostro 1000 laptop which have Phoenix BIOS.
    Latest version is A06 v2.6.3
    downloads(dot)dell(dot)com/bios/WinVost263.EXE (Sorry Can't Post Links)

It came with a DOS CD so there is no SLIC (I hope I got that right :) )

It's BIOS is very basic , with so little to tweak , not like the one I have seen in DELL Latitude D630 which had lots of options.

I needed to have An auto Power ON feature to face power outage problem , to make it power on after power is restored.

Also a wake on LAN , WAKE UP timer with an option of hourly wake up will be helpful.

    I downloaded PhoenixBiosEditor2.2.13.
Manged to extract ROM file from exe file above. (WinVost263.EXE /writeromfile)

    then opened it .

There was a lot of tables with DATA which I had no clue how to edit safely to get what I wanted .

Now I have a question , is what I am asking for is possible ?!

If the answer was yes , Then how to do it ?!

    Thank you

wakeup timer has to rely on RTC.. i believe if RTC doesnt have that feature (ACPI x.x?).. then it cant be enabled.

check it in Phoenix Bios editor.

    Thank you for your response.

I looked up RTC "Real-time clock" , I think I have that with a button cell battery.

I do not know what to look for in Phoenix Bios editor , there was no RTC mentioned as skimmed through it.

That's ACPI screen from Phoenix Bios editor, could not read it's version though.

what about "auto Power ON feature" ? does that have a perquisite ?
