Overclocking Pentium 4 540 - no change?!

    Well, yes. I was under the impression that SuperPi results are driven by CPU-only power :eek:

    Why are you still on a Pentium 4? IPC improved dramatically with Conroe. To put things into perspective, the slowest Dual Core Conroe (E1200) was far faster than a Pentium EE. Now, even a Celeron G1610 can match/beat an E8500. I would really think you should upgrade.

    You get very little help from clockspeeds in superpi.

    :smokecowboy:I couldn't care less about superpi as long as the pron loads fast then everything's ok.
