Hi everybody, I own an Asus P5AD2-E Premium motherboard that have an onboard Silicon Image Sil3114R Sata Raid Controller; I'd like to upgrade the onboard controller's BIOS to the latest version. I have the motherboard bios in a .rom file h**p://dl.dropbox.com/u/4527700/AmericanMegatrendsInc.-1005.002.rom and I also have the .bin file of the sata controller bios; h**p://dl.dropbox.com/u/4527700/b5500.bin my question is: is it possibile to replace the sata controller bios integrated in my current motherboard bios, with the latest sata controller bios release? I have tried to open my motherboard bios (.rom file) with MMTool but I can't find the module that have to be replaced; could you help me? Thanks in advance!
You are trying to use wrong module. Download Sil3114 5.4.03 BIOS and use it. It is not that hard to do using MMTool. Find option ROM matching VENDOR & DEVICE IDs of your SATA controller and replace it with newer.
