Im trying to do a bios update but everytime i try it says id doesnt match. is there anywhere to get the update?
Is this from a Packard Bell pc? My search has turned up that it is a proprietary board built for PB. As such I would start by looking for an update using their support site.
I have an NEC/Packard Bell, has that exact motherboard. I too had the same issue, but i ended up making my own and flashed it. Works fine, it has SLIC 2.1 now and have had no issues with crashes or anything, I can upload if you wish? It worked for me but I backed up my old ROM before flash, flashed and booted into win7, installed certificate, PC OEM activated. Note, if i upload it am not guaranteeing it! Mines maybe a never version though.
Help! Hi, i have a ASUS P5S800-VM/S motherboard and i stuck it somehow in ez flash without me having a bios update for it. So now the pc boots DIRECTLY in ez-flash and searches for bios either on floppy or on cd. The keyboard is dead as in no key working (Del, F1...F12, CapsLock, NumLock, Ctrl+Alt+Del... nothing) Can't find any bios on ASUS site that's accepted by ezflash since on asus site there's only the P5S800-VM (without the /S) Can you please save a copy of your bios and somehow let me have a try with it? I tried moving the bios jumper, removing the battery, changed ram.... nothing works. Please please please help ...
Thanks, will try that out and see if it flashes. That model is not in the PB back catalogue on support so couldn't find a stock BIOS. Otherwise I would have chucked it into the Award & AMI request thread.
There is no PT.xxxx only: Model/Type: UTOW - SAN MS WHQL No: SAN 1058593 S/N: (doesn't bring up on PB site) PID: 0496668 P/N: PB34211301 Model Name: iMedia 1408 That BIOS rom causes an instant reboot each time trying to boot into win 7. In startup repair I get a BSOD with the following: The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated bios.
i hope u backed up old AMIBOOT.rom or S8VM1023 ? did u know version u had ? we could have used the backup to slic.
I did and have flashed back. Any ideas now? EDIT: Just trying something as read up about bios updates throwing win 7 out of whack. Flashing your rom again and trying a quick re-install as there wasn't much on this machine.
Yup, running through windows update as we speak happy and activated. I'm guessing that the 204 bios fixed some power management issues resulting in a different RSDT table or something along those lines and windows ACPI settings just couldn't handle the change.
yah dsdt likely changed also.. machine type changed in acpi of 7 cpudriver . good job in spotting it.
