Password in BIOS

    Guys I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T430 but the bios is lock with a password I know theirs software out their that can reset or crack it, I believe is call FBI utility CD , I can always jump the the mobo and reset it but I want to try to remove the password using software first, I will short the mobo as a last resort. thanks

    don't know of any software.
    You can tell if the bios resets by checking the date, it will default to the date of it's last flash. If the date in the bios is not changing then leave the battery out over night. "Shorting out" the mobo is the same as resetting the bios, leaving the battery out does the same thing

    If memory serve me right in lenovo thinkpad have a security ship removing the battery will clear the CMOS settings but if the BIOS is password u have to short it out in the mobo....but try Joe C method removed the battery for a day and see if that works for u.

    UBCD Live BETA, and use PC CMOS Cleaner, it resets BIOS settings and password.
