    Hello,

    is it possible to activate permanently windows 8.1 as follows:
    1. install windows 8 pro
    2. activate it with Microsoft Toolkit 2.4.9 (CODYXQ4)
    3. add windows media center by purchasing it
    4. make a free upgrade to Windows 8.1

    thank you for your help.

    that's how I did it.

    installed Windows 8.0 Pro VL, activated on a local kms vm, added WMC (thus converting from a KMS to a Retail license), then updated to Windows 8.1 Pro with WMC via the Windows Store app.

    Thank for your response.

    @Paiva
    I don't understand why. I explain.
    I have a windows 8.1 activate like that but with a free version of WMC.
    So I thought it would be possible by purchasing a version of WMC.

    @timster
    And you do it recently by purchasing WMC?

    I had a free WMC key that I activated in January 2012. updated to 8.1 on October 17 and the activation was left intact.

    Understand that it is tied to how you activated 8 to start with.
    If kms , you will lose activation
    if retail, legit , you ll be ok

    Right, but you can activate Windows 8 Pro with KMS and then upgrade and activate with a WMC key. This will convert it to a legit retail activation, which can be upgraded via Store and retain activation.
    Yes it's possible.

    Daz' loader activation is based on OEM system and KMSpico is based on KMS activation system. OEM activation is permanent and KMS only does it for 180 days which is designed to do so. Industrial environments using KMS activate against a local servers and nobody using the client machines is aware of the activation process because the client calls the host server periodically.

    How so? The hassle of finding servers and activating every 6 months is too troublesome at least for me.
    One key, you have permanent activation.

    yep, one key does it as long as it is your legal key. The blacklisted keys will be closed very soon :p

    Actually, I activated my friends and family's computers more than 10 times in this way, and their keys have never been blacklisted :p

    But they are likely to. Don't know about a time frame, but I can safely say that phone activations (at least the ones where you try to activate more than authorized) will eventually be blacklisted. I personally prefer KMS. Safe, tight and quick.

    Besides, a little hunting, you wouldn't even need an internet connection to activate. Now tell me that doesn't work for you. ;)
