Well I use msdn for all my microsoft software, but some other programs, i fall in that other categorie
I pirate software, unless it's something so cheap and so much work put into it, then I just buy it because I feel guilty, but on the other hand, f*%$ 800$ for Photoshop a editing program I just want to use once to create a poster to sell my used Wii that I got 3 years ago.
Depends on the software. Some things I buy, some things I just use a working copy someone else made of his bought software Nearly the same with music - I download and listen to it; if I like it, I buy the CD. Especially because I'm mostly listening to 'smaller' bands; I don't really like mainstream music. Just doesn't suit my ears
Why ptd? Well, I was a legit user of Vista. Then I had to update my BIOS to run my sweet SLI rig and BINGO no more act1vation. Yes, I rang M$ and they gave me a new key. Yes, I posted the issue on M$ forum. No, they could not give me an answer as to why they pooched my key because of a BIOS upgrade. MB serial number, sure! BIOS version, no way! Keep out of my BIOS damn you!
I support good, responsive and conceientous developers and pirate the rest. I pirate and spread anything by big Content. I buy grey market and bootleg hardware of harware makers that abuse customer, like Sony.
i bought vista. (oem, got it fairly cheap thru work...) ms kills it after 2 yrs.... so screw it, im getting my moneys worth. pirated win7. i like it, if i can find a cheap oem, i may purchase the real license. but currently, i don't care. games that i will invest real time into, or will replay consistantly - definate purchase. games i will play once or twice..im not spending $70cnd (yes, games up here are 70bux).
Official of course! I need sleep SO badly! I started reading that like "Learn to touch yourself in silence..." and started again: "Learn silence...". I'm way too tired to understand what I'm reading, so repairing certain hardware has to wait. I think we all know that doing something important is not a good idea when you're tired...
Both actually, most of my official is from free giveaways, but I have paid for most of the software that I use for "work". Most of the games that I play on a regular basis are paid for. Operating systems, who can tell?
