Just says to me that MS know unless they give it away for free, not many will bother with it Piracy elimination is just their cover story
Yea, my guess is that you are most likely right. The mtro-fication would normally have been a turn-off for many, but free is a strong incentive.
If I'm remember right, it were mention some time ago that those free upgrades will bi available for max 1 year but forever. In real, I'm hardly could believe that MS will give those licenses to any running Windows 7 -8.x user, doesn't matter legal or not legal!!
Your Windows 7 key is eligible for a free copy of Windows 10 anyway. Not sure if you'd have to go through that process though - Reinstall Windows 7 > "Upgrade" to Windows 10
Simply true!! Just it would be a very bad promotion for Microsoft if they do so! It would go against every Business Principle and wouldn't be liked by MS Corporate customers not to tell about the private legal users who paid a lot of money to them already!
Pirated versions of windows are stolen. They don't deserve a free upgrade that then makes their software legit and legal. It just doesn't make sense to me.
It makes sense to upgrade pirated Windows OS when the Windows 10 is going to be free for those running Windows 7 and 8.
