How do I format the previous windows 7? and clean install? I have no idea how to do any of this, I had a computer built for me from Digital storm and they are no help. I think I deleted something because Malwarebytes found PUP stuff, deleted it and now my computer is a mess. Please HELP ME ... I have been trying to figure this out since 7am and it is now 5 pm

Safe mode > scan for malware > open CMD: sfc /scannow

Or take the drive out and put it in another machine as a secondary drive and copy your stuff off like that

Sfc / scannow does not work in any mode, I tried it and I have no idea how to take a drive out, I am a girl and no nothing about the internal stuff ... I know enough to wreak havoc so I don't mess with much, so I have no idea what i deleted via malwarebytes, but even deleted the log file ... what an idiot I am.

When you're inside of windows, press the Windows Key & R to open RUN, then type Control Panel and hit enter

When control panel opens, type C:\ into the top address bar and hit enter

You might be able to navigate your way back into explorer that way

Should be able to do that with a browser too

That is the problem, I can't open anything because it gives me that error, even when I am in the cmd prompt, that is what is scaring me. I want to avoid a new install if at all costs .... I need to get my printer working to print shipping labels etc. so I am in a real jam here. I so so so appreciate your responding. I know this can be fixed I am just such a dunce with all this stuff.

I have the windows dvd, I brought up the repair option tried all of them, NOTHING worked. I was just reading about the windows installer which I may have deleted which is causing some of this ... but not sure ... I also found the download to download the "trusted installer" I am on my laptop, I just am so frustrated it is hours upon hours already and am exhausted. Do you have any tricks with the dvd that might work other than the repair option, which did nothing?

If you can start setup from the DVD when you're inside of windows, run an upgrade over the top of the broken install, it will repair the OS and keep all your programs and files

@gamazet I am going to log in to the PC right now and try what you said, but I think I deleted the "trusted installer" which might be a service thing ... btw I can pull up the services window and make them automatic or manual, but can't see dependent services window ... so something is up

If you run setup from inside of windows and choose install, once it reboots into the setup installer screen, it will ask "Upgrade or Custom" - choose upgrade

No, if you have the professional DVD, you can just upgrade to the same version
