I got a laptop from my college. But they changed the logo from hp to theirs. So everytime when i boot that logo pop-up n stare at me. That logo is very creepy n i want to change it.Gone through hundreds of pages dozens of forums tried everything i know but its of no use. Then sumwhere i read, that logo is flashed inside bios n i cant remove it easily. Ive formatted computers but never done anything related to "BIOS".
    Its a HP Pavilion G4 1303AU laptop.
It has Insyde Bios version F.65 . When i checked for bios update on hp site it showed an update F.6A.
So, my question is basically how to flash bios (coz im a noob at that) and secondly and most importantly that fugly logo would go or not?
Since the update is from hp so i think i dont have to worry about other things such as mobo model make n other stuff or do i have to find out any other things . Flashing Bios is a scary for me coz i have read if done wrong motherboard will crash. Please guide me what to do n thanks for ur time reading my plethora of questions. TIA

for HP systems its very simple. just download the exe file from the above link i gave, check its the correct model that you have, and then once downloaded double click on the exe and it will run and update the bios for you. standard hp installation method.

One last thing- flashing bios would effect my current windows in any way? If so then i have to take backup of my data. Do i have to install hp UEFI for this update or simply download n install?

Ensure that the laptop is connected to the mains power, do not disconnect or connect anything whilst its running.

Don't worry of flashing your bios with the official update came from the manufacturer. I did that many times for my DELL desktop computer and it was very easy.

Actually my laptop came with windows7 starter but i formatted and repartitioned my hdd and installed fresh windows7 ultimate. I thought that wud remove the logo bt i was wrong. So my laptop is not new. Also as far i can recall there was a hidden partition for recovery named sumthing like uefi . Bt i deleted everything in hope removing that horrendous logo of father-son bt of no use. I was waiting for night when power cuts are less for flashing bios, i was killing time by surfing then i came across this-w w w .h30434.www3.hp.com/ t5 / Other-Notebook-PC-Questions/ UEFI-BIOS-corrupt / td-p / 1442311 (cant post link of low post count so delete space).
I didnt understand how can his bios flashing went wrong although he updated only after there was update available? Then i get it. I just cant simply flash bios from installer without uefi or whatever it is or else my bios wud corrupt. Correct me if im wrong bt i think i have to install uefi b4 flashing bios. Plz guide me what to do properly and plz mention d steps in a bit detail. Thnx for bearing with me.

it wont flash it if its not proper bios id.
nothing to worry about bios flash in EFI mode... windows yes u do worry
it is f.6a and u need to put the files i linked in new or it wont work since encrypted bios files wont flash. and needs .sig file also.

That means u are telling me to unzip and put the files u provided under Hp_Tools/Hp/Bios/New. Then press F2 on boot goto bios management and select update bios in EFI mode right? Bt u didnt tell me in which folder to put the F.6A bios installer?
