Hello, I'm currently using Windows 7 RTM (16385) and when I install the new catalyst drivers 9.6 or 9.7,9.8 I get the following error: per example if you try to reproduce a mpg file in Windows Media Player 12, my mouse get stucked for a few seconds, and with Media Center using TDT (digital TV) sometime the images looks weirds... but using catalyst drivers 8.6 all is working fine... Btw I'm using XFX 4890

it's not the pblm of RTM. something u installed is causing it.

try disabling catalyst control center and see

    suggestion:

install only the driver package , then find a copy of Powerstrip 3.85 build 645 and install- now you have full control of your graphic card without the bloated buggy Catalyst Control Centre.

    no problems on Win 7 x64 - ATI 4850 /4870 on 3 computers.

Apart from fattening my display desktop button irreversibly I haven't had any trouble with Catalyst 9.7/9.8.
Btw ty for reminding me 9.8 was out for W7 ;)

No problems here with 9.8 catalyst drivers and mobility radeon 4850.

See if maybe you have a third party codec installed that's taking over the default codecs. It may not be compatible with win 7.

This could especially happen if you installed software for a tuner card or capture card.

Uninstall the driver via. Driver cleaner, it`a free program, then reinstall the latest catalyst suite - should work.

Yes, I've uninstalled the "Catalyst Panel" and now my Radeon 4890 is working 100% fine with ati driver 9.8.

I'm wondering if the "Catalyst Panel" is the cause of the trouble, or just a option in the Panel that is causing the issue ?

    Somebody know ?
