It's driving me nuts! I've tried a lot of solutions already, from RemovWAT, to the Microsoft Toolkit, to the MAK keys; but nothing just seems to work. Please, if you could help me, then I really do thank you from all of my soul!
Install Ultimate, there is no difference between Enterprise and Ultimate except the issue you are having. Ultimate is single license and Enterprise is Volume.
Correctly: Windows 7 Enterprise is, as all Enterprise versions of Windows, a Corporate version which isn't sold on the open public market, means you could not enter a Apps Store or Computer Shop and buy Enterprise version there.
What matters, if he can buy it or not (btw, i don´t think it´s his intention to do so ). The question was about activating it permanently. Answer here is: NOPE!
Partially right, but....As Daz stated some times, with the in-build WAT, MS can even deactivate them in a ban wave (like done with "manipulated" XBoxes for example). That btw wouldn´t need an update to download. These keys will be most obviously blacklisted/banned, so i wouldn´t bet on this "permanent" activation . EDIT: Also his hacktivated system seems to refuse beeing activated this way . It stays, that he´ll need to revert this first .
That's the thing. I installed Enterprise and I thought it wouldn't be too hard to activate, since it's more or less the same as Ultimate, but boy was I wrong! I searched for everything, and there seems to be a tool for every separate version, but I can't seem to find a specific one for Enterprise. And RemoveWAT doesn't work. Whenever I try to use it, it goes some weird seppuku style s**t where it just deletes itself. Seriously guys, please help me! And sorry, but installing Ultimate isn't an option for me, as it's going to be extremely tedious having to switch my entire OS whilst needing to do work on it, and having other files on it from some people. So guys, please suggest something else.
so running removeWAT and uninstalling it, then using WATFix to clean it up, and then using MTK doesnt work either hey?
You could try to Upgrade to Ultimate, I don't know that will works, it's just an idea! If it works, you'll not need to do a whole reinstallation of everything! To find out, use an Ultimate DVD or ISO, mount it and run from within Enterprise's file manager the Setup. If the Upgrade didn't will work, it will tell it.
The only permanent activation for enterprise is a volume-MAK. Those are not very common, and if you use kb971033 for validation stuff, a lot of keys might be blocked. I would defer you to s1ave77's original response. To repair a removewat, you can load up the removewat again and click the restore wat button, or you can use daz's repairwat utility. None of us generally worry about permanent activation because we all tend to play with so many activators that even our kms activation never seems to fall below 175 days. There is a really good tool that CODYQX4 made to automate the kms activation though... He calls it Microsoft Toolkit, and it's here in the mdl projects section. You can just install AutoKMS, click the activate button, and enjoy life. The 2.4.3 release even passes validate stuff without any further editing. It's really ez-mode man... go give it a shot.
Guys, it isn't that I absolutely insist on using Enterprise, it's just that I have to. I need to do work on it, other people I know have work on it, and basically; I just can't change the OS right now. If somebody could give me a method of changing my OS to Ultimate extremely quickly, then I'd appreciate it.
Simplified instructions for "Upgrade/Downgrade" from any edition to any other edition: - In regedit go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version => change EditionID and ProductName from "Enterprise" to "Ultimate" - Load up your Ultimate install media, launch setup from within Windows, choose upgrade. Win7 Enterprise can be activated by KMS or MAK, period.
