This is only useful if you want to run hakintosh and if you don't have a motherboard that has security preventing you from flashing modified bios.

I already tried this several weeks ago and i could patch my bios but not flash it :/.

Hmm.. Intel uses digital signing which makes it harder to flash. Read the corresponding forum.. there is a way to force flash.

I was told on insanelymac how to break the security, but i don't want to break the board. I don't think it is worth to risk breaking a 300$ (according to currency converter) board just for unlocking 1 thing in the bios.

Could you post the link to the force flash instructions?

Thanks. When I run fpt I get "Error 201: [FPTw.exe] cannot be run on the current platform.
Please contact your vendor." Either in Windows or DOS :( Mobo is Intel DX58SO.

    The author reporting.
This patcher is useless for X58 and X79 boards now, because they have different mechanism of locking MSR 0xE2, which is still unknown to me. Sorry.
If you have any methods that I can automate - your are welcome.

I'm not sure if native PM actually works on Gigabyte X58 boards and actually causes KP on others. I don't have access to X58 or X79 based PC to test any particular modification. If I have muuuch free time - maybe, but now it's impossible to develop a patch without any testing.

I have seen some reports that it works on ASUS boards without modifications. Others say that it doesn't. Some X79 boards can be patched with current version of patcher and work, other can't. Weird and needs testing.

Just tell me what file hosting is working in China and I will register there and repost FTK archives for you.
They are too big to attach to this forum.

Anyway my bios is unlocked now and i have done the pinmod, I confirm it work !! ( after a deeeeeep breath and soldering skills )

Thnks CodeRush for your descriptor settings, I'm fully unlocked now . ( edensystem on insanelymac)
