Hey everyone. I wanted to know if you guys could help me figure out how to forward the proper ports for a Netgear router so that I could seed torrents properly. Right now it seems like my uploading ports are not open because I am not getting any upload speeds at all.

I have a netgear router and could really use some help. I also want to make sure I'm doing this safely and am not opening up anything for attackers.

    Thanks a lot!

    Eric

also if you have "custom" firewall (comodo or similar) you must do some exceptions and rules ...

    for comodo:

    [RULE 1]
    Action ............ : Allow
    Protocol .......... : UDP
    Direction ......... : Out
    Description ....... : DNS Service
    Source Address .... : Any
    Destination Address : Any
    Source Port ....... : Any
    Destination Port .. : (A Single Port) 53

    [RULE 2]
    Action ............ : Allow
Protocol .......... : TCP or UDP
    Direction ......... : In
Description ....... : Port [YOUR PORT] [IN] (TCP/UDP)
    Source Address .... : Any
    Destination Address : Any
    Source Port ....... : Any
Destination Port .. : (A Single Port) [YOUR PORT]

    [RULE 3]
    Action ............ : Allow
    Protocol .......... : UDP
    Direction ......... : Out
Description ....... : Port [YOUR PORT] [OUT] (UDP)
    Source Address .... : Any
    Destination Address : Any
Source Port ....... : (A Single Port) [YOUR PORT]
    Destination Port .. : Any
