    Hi,

I used imagex.exe to create a portable Windows 8 Pro installation on my USB drive. I plan to use this installation on multiple PC's. Will I lose my genuine activation status if I boot it on another computer or not?

If not, then that would be lovely but if there is a possibility of losing activation, I will just install deep freeze on it and enable it when using on other computers.

That is what I was thinking but some people here claimed they used win8 pro on multiple computers though that might have been kms.

When I was using Win8 enterprise (180 days), it was working.

Also incase it gets deactivated will my deep freeze method work?

    Yes, activation is gone.

But will be back if you connect your USB drive to the previous computer.

So on the PC where it deactivates, can you at least somehow use the computer, or does it shutdown or something.

The only way it will stay activated is if it is initialized on the computer with the same motherboard, ram, and hard drive...

So what happens when Windows 8 deactivates itself, just a "not genuine" watermark and no personalisation, or a complete lock down?
