I feel pretty confident a way exists that you could add Windows Media Center back to Windows 7 if you installed a barebones OS using something like a vLite'd ISO, but I'm kind of wondering if there would be a way someone could rip the WMC files from Windows 7 to be used on 8. My thinking is that if we could create a standalone WMC installation/folder that we could copy it to a Windows 8 machine and still (hopefully) retain all functionality - thus negating the need to reactivate Win8 after installing Windows Media Center. Personally I would prefer this option over having to reactivate Win8 since all of this KMS nonsense is still being spewed forth on this forum. I'm only running Win8 Enterprise in a VM unactivated, but I'm sure there are probably a few people around here willing to test such a feature. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't benefit from it too though, because I have a few HTPCs around the house that require CableCARD access that would love to see a Win8 installation.
